Lower class children have a less materialistic attitude. Aside from the most obvious reasons, it is not just because they lack the funds to become materialistic or technology to be materialistic; it is because they have more time to focus on the finer things in life such as family, friends and laughter. The Middle Class: Plans for the Future
It's no mystery that the consensus this past decade or so is that the middle class of America was left behind. Not good news for the long recession/recovery. Spend Time Before Money
Raising a middle class child in an upper class environment can be as tough as warding off swarming bees. Children are delicate little creatures and we want to keep them safe, even if it means giving them things to make them happy in order to keep them from shedding a tear.
